In January, Sage very quietly made a big announcement stating that they will require all Sage 50/Peachtree payroll users to upgrade every year by subscribing to their Sage Business Care which will include the annual payroll tax tables. Here is a copy of the announcement:
Business Care is an annual subscription and is available in Silver, Gold, or Platinum levels. You can find a detailed list of Business Care benefits at http://na.sage.com/sage-50-accounting-us/support/care but here is a summary. During the year of your subscription you will receive:
As you can see, there are many benefits that come with maintaining a current Business Care plan. In fact, they’ve always been a good idea for people who like to stay on the most recent version of Sage 50. But for those of you who, until now, did not upgrade every year, the cost of doing payroll in Sage 50 is about to go up dramatically.
We are Sage partners. We only sell the same program you purchase directly from Sage. So, you get the same exact plan, but you get it for less. No matter what inside sales tells you, it is the same plan. We just save you money and we act as your advocate. We will not upgrade your account to a platinum account and charge you more without discussing this with you first. We will not renew your account if you call us before your renewal date and tell us not to renew. You don’t have to call us three times, we will get it done the first time. For your ANNUAL renewals - If you are a Best Business Strategies customer, we will invoice at least 60 days in advance. We will offer you a discount on the renewal. If you do not renew through us before your current program expires, Sage Has your credit card on file and they will automatically renew your account at FULL price. Once they renew your account, we cannot get you a refund. If you want to cancel your business care, you must tell us in writing AT LEAST 15 BUSINESS DAYS before YOUR ANNUAL anniversary date. (Your annual Anniversary date can be located on our invoice to you and it is the date you purchased your original software from Sage through Best Business Strategies.)

Are you tired of fighting MS Outlook and the Sage 50 E-mail Writer?
Did you know that even if you don’t use MS Outlook, you can still email your invoice from Sage 50? You do not need the Sage 50 E-mail Writer but you do need a PDF Creator. You can find this FREE download on the internet. I usually choose CNet for downloads because it is a SAFE site but when downloading this great program, they will add in other programs too. Nothing harmful, just a nuance. I simply remove the other programs after I get the one I want.

So now that you have the PDF creator downloaded, you can use it to move your invoices to Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc.
How to Use the PDF Creator:
Instead of hitting EMAIL to send your invoice, you will now hit PRINT and choose the PDF creator as your PRINTER. When the PDF creator screen appears, give your item a title and click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page. Choose the folder you would like to place the invoice in and you are finished. The next time use save the invoice it will go back, or default, to the same folder you used the first time. To make it simple, I called my folder invoices and I use the same folder for all of my PDF created invoices.
Now open your email account, click on the attachment icon , go back to the designated folder with your PDF created invoice and click on your document. Your invoice is now attached to your email!
